Dear Community,
I have built a catalog item with 18 variables. 9 of them are meant for some users, and the other 9 variables are for some different users.
We design the workflow to obtain approvals in phases. The first 9 variables should be visible to the first group of approval, and the remaining 9 should appear only to the second phase of approvers.
How can I hide them from each other in the approval process?
Looking forward to your kind support and expertise.
Regards,
Burhan Shah

Hi @Burhan Shah,
The order guides can handle two different catalog items - you can relate them with the requested for user variable.
In terms of sequential fulfilment - this can be done: Configure a sequence to fulfill items in order guides

Hi @Burhan Shah ,
This can become difficult to manage if this is a common process. If it is going to be a common repeatable - there might be an architectural piece that could be done to make this easier.
However, a method to achieve for this specific instance would be to:
Put each of the sets of 9 variables into a variable set each & create UI policies for the approval groups for each.
Create specific email approval templates for these so that all of the variables aren't included - extend this to your other communication channels - teams etc.
Exclude this catalog item from your original approval emails.

Hi @Burhan Shah,
wouldn't it be easier to implement two separated record producers and set the right audience?
Some will have RP with their options and other will have also theirs.
I it still possible or is it too late?
You could make a copy of that RP, solely update the variable attributes in each of the 2. The create user criteria and based on them grant the access to each of the RP and you are good.
What do you think about this? No complex hiding after submission...

@GlideFather - This is a great suggestion - perhaps using a bundle? So it appears essentially as one catalog item for the user.

We kind of had there many RP always dual versions and sometimes it was quite difficult, now I remember just notifications being annoying to set correctly 😄 but still might be easier than to hide and display sets of choices...
your approach with the variable set shall do the trick as well
