How does ACL & User Criteria work together in Knowledge Base? What should be used to control access?

Hi All,

How does ACL & User Criteria (Knowledge base & Article) work together in Knowledge articles?

ACL Vs User Criteria

Q1: Can User Criteria override ACL?

Q2: Can ACL Override User Criteria?

Knowledge Base User Criteria Vs Knowledge Form User Criteria

Q3: How does both User Criteria works together?

Q4: If user A can contribute on a knowledge base, is there any way to restrict that user from read access?

E.g. we have given contribution user criteria with user role 'knowledge'. We want to give read access only to the owner group members (other group members should now have read access even if they have 'knowledge' role).

Thanks,

KUMAR

User criteria can be applied to the front end view of knowledge articles and catalog items to control who can view them (typically through a portal) while ACLs control table and column level access to the actual catalog item and knowledge article records. ACLs are typically applied to the table on the back-end to control who can edit them.
