Meta and Synonyms searches serve different purposes:
1. Meta Search
- Meta search is based on metadata fields that are indexed for search.
- It searches across additional fields that are not part of the item's primary title or description.
- For example, if a catalog item has metadata like short_description, category, or tags, the meta search will retrieve results based on these fields.
- Owner of the form can define which fields are included in the meta search.
2. Synonyms Search
- Synonym search helps users find catalog items using alternative words for the same term.
- For example, if a catalog item is called "Laptop," but a user searches for "Notebook," the synonym search will map "Notebook" to "Laptop" and return the relevant results.
- Admins can configure Synonym Sets in Search Administration.

Hello @Balakrishna_ABK ,
Meta is used to rank the catalog item based on some certain keywords. Whereas synonym helps to find the catalog item based on some certain keyword that matches the meaning.
Please mark my answer as accepted solution and give thumbs up, if it helps you.
