How to auto-populate fields from parent to child form when we click on New button from related links?

I have a table for example, "Incident" which has a related list called "Problem" where when we click on new button and a new problem can be created. And in problem form, I want to auto populate the incident number which is the parent table of the problem table. How can we do this?

In the new problem form, the incident number is auto populated. In this case, Incident is the parent table and Problem is the child table. How can we do this?

It depend which module you are accessing. Alot of time these things mentioned in module properties only. else use BR for same.
