How to calculate time worked on Story and Scrum Task

Hello Community,

is there any out-of-the-box way to get the sum of Time Worked from Story and its related Scrum Tasks?

In my current project, we need to report the time worked divided into:

  1. Business Analysis
  2. Business Documentation
  3. Coding/Configuration
  4. Manual testing
  5. Technical documentation
  6. Automated test design

Currently, it is done out of ServiceNow but I thought that it would be great to have everything in one place so that we don't have to copy/paste information from one source to another.

On the Story, we can create Scrum Tasks and I was expecting to have a field on the Story level to see the sum of all time worked OR actual points.

One way to do it partially is to have a report on [rm_scrum_task] and list Time Worked. Here is my example but it's not what I am really looking for.

Do you know any good practices on how to achieve that? Should we create a new field and have BR which would calculate that? I am trying to see what is available before creating another customization.

Thanks

MK

Hi @Marcin Kroszel

You can use 'Metric Definition' feature of servicenow to track the time spend on particular story between different states. And also you can have a report on that.
