How to parse an XML Response using XMLDocument2

Hi All, 

I want to understand the concept of parsing an XML response using XMLDocument2. If there is complex XML response and I need to parse it so that I can extract useful information and map it with ServiceNow table fields. Like when to use a loop, syntax etc. 

P.S: I am not looking for converting an XML to JSON and then utilize it.
