Tbh I dont know where to start as the query seems to be quite complicated.
As far as Iam aware, we have 2 BR in the system when the Asset is imported CI is created and vice versa. And CI doesnt have any hostname in it (Just the Asset tag and model).
So now our client services team has asked if there is any chance hostname can be added to the Configuration item. They work with physical and virtual servers and when ever they try to create an incident or change they wanted to add hostname to the CI field (which is mandatory in Incident form). But the issue is they are able to add the hostname but it doesnt have any Asset details in it which making their lives harder. Attached screenshot for reference. Can anyone guide me what is the right way to proceed this.
