How to reload a UI Maro without loading the entire page?

I have a UI Macro and a formatter that shows some content from glide records.  I need to be able to refresh that content without having to reload the entire form.  Is that possible?

That may be possible. But when you want to change the macro content? Is it on the change of some field?

Can you explain your requirement here?

Its been a while, but I think I wound up creating an iframe on the UI Macro then pointing it to a custom portal widget where I could control the content better.  Not ideal because the iframe needed to be dynamically sized to prevent scrollbars each time it was refreshed.  But it worked for what I needed.
