I have used both the list component and the list page template in a few of my pages for a custom workspace. I don't have AES so everything I've done is in UI Builder. Both the component and page template include a "New" button, but we don't want people creating new records from the list. How do I disable them? I've not customized either the page template or component since they are functioning as I want except for the "New" button.

Hello @gjz ,
Right-click and inspect the 'NEW' button and you will get the sys_id of it.
Navigate to sys_declarative_action_assignment.LIST and search with it.
You can Deactivate here.
If the above information helps you, Kindly mark it as Helpful and Accept the solution.
Regards,
Najmuddin.

You can hide the "New" button in UI Builder by customizing the component’s properties or using CSS overrides. Speaking of custom solutions, I came across an MVP application development company that offers great customization options. Has anyone else tried this?

If you use the preset then you can't use the customisation options to remove the NEW button. There are simple toggles for things like the filter button and the column edit button but, there is nothing for the other buttons.
I'm looking into how this can be achieved. Once you have the NEW button action assignment record, you obviously need to be careful because amending it directly could impact every instance of that button.
If I crack it, I'll update.
