Hello Community,
I am still new to ServiceNow and would like to know how can I run some of the available ServiceNow apps locally on my machine. I tried with ServiceNow store for SecurityOperations as a sample app, but I am getting You cannot use this Servicenow id. I do not have paid subscription yet to Servicenow and want to know if I have to install apps as extensions and what is the base image container I have to install.
Can someone help me on how to do first time Servicenow setup and how to plug and play apps as plugins or otherwise in local environment?

Hi
unfortunately your question is not very clear.
First, you will never be able to "install" ServiceNow on your local machine. ServiceNow is a cloud-based product, and only accredited partners are allowed to run ServiceNow in their own data centers.
Second, if a plugin is only available in the store and not in the list of all plugins printed in your PDI you cannot get it for PDI. Sometimes ServiceNow just forgot to make it available, but very often some plugins are only allowed for customer instances and not for PDIs.
Kind regards
Maik

If so, can you please explain the purpose of store then? Plugin is a broad term and I thought one could download the environment and install apps over them. Also it could be helpful if you take pain in expanding the lingo of this community. PDI, instance, plugin etc.,

Majority of customers use ServiceNow in the Cloud and they have a Cloud instance that they handle the hosting, system administration, database management, and CPU, the Servicenow Store is a Store like other- app Stores apple or Google play apps can be downloaded that work with Servicenow, some are connectors, some are integrations from vendors some are Servicenow Extensions/Plugins- the terms is used generically. The store doesn't have any trial versions or Demos of SN- that I am aware of..... If you buy a license there are on=premise installs for Servicenow in the minority and then the app have to be downloaded from the web and moved to datacenter.
