How to show entire Catalog item in the Knowledge Base on the ServiceNow Platform (NOT Portal)

For every Catalog Item created on the developer platform, there is a Knowledge Base Article created showing just the description of the item. I would like to know how to have the KB search pull up the item itself (with all the fields ready to fill out). In the Portal, it seems like that is the default feature. You can also access the link builder in the Portal by using widgets. However, I've yet to figure out if it's possible to do on the Platform. Do we even have access to the link builder for this? If so, how do you access it?

I think you may be mistaking the category picker widget for the Service Portal, as "the KB interface".
If you have a KB article being created with every catalog item that you create, I'm pretty sure that's custom functionality. Likely a BR...? I have never seen that oob.
I think what you're experiencing is the limitation of UI16 "platform" interface being not as rich (does not use widgets) as the Service Portal (with widgets).

I checked the BR's and nothing along the lines of what I'm dealing with was there. To clarify, in the Portal, a reference to a given Catalog item is created in the KB as desired. However, in the platform, only the description of the item is displayed. I'm attempting to redirect the link on the KB to the Catalog item directly. Is this something that can be done?

Can you provide screenshots of what you're looking at? Both the KB on the portal with the reference to the item as well as the KB in the platform with only the description would be helpful
