Hi All,
We have multiple data sources to update CMDB, we don't need to manage some class data but those are getting populated by difference data sources (Specifically Discovery). Hence our CMDB's record count crossed 9 lakh and kept on increasing.
Is there a any way to skip the classes which we don't want to manage?
I have created IRE data source rule for "Network Adapter" against data source "ServiceNow" but discovery still populates the records. (Network Adapter alone around 6.7 Lakh records in the cmdb)
We also need to avoid below classes.
VMware Virtual Machine Instance
DNS Name
Network Adapter
Software
Switchport
Kindly provide your thought on the best way to achieve this,
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Venkatesh Dhanapal

Hi Venkatesh,
can you post the IRE Datasource rule? Be aware of double negation with the flag (must be true if insert is not allowed). And ensure that this rule is created in global scope.

You configured it correct. Seems that ServiceNow again don't use their own rules in the IRE for discovery. So sad. The only thing you can additional test is, to create a second rule for any not used data source which allows creation. Maybe IRE only evaluates it, if there is more than one rule - but this is only guessing.

Hi,
Under Discovery configuration console you can enable and disable the CI classes which you wanted to stop.
Thanks,
