How to validate the inbound email through ATF

there is a scenario where if the incident is on status "pending" and end user replies on that ticket through portal or through outlook then then their is a inbound email that ServiceNow received and that emails shows under the activity log.
How can i validate if that inbound email ServiceNow received or not through ATF.
