Hi,
Each day I have to wake up my instance. Example today, I did configurations around 4:00 AM and on the same day when checked around 2:00 PM, the instance is hibernating.
Why is this happening even when I keep using the instance?
And once the instance sleeps, chrome / internet explorer browser saves the state of it and keeps showing "Hibernating" even after waking up the instance. Clearing cache works but not always. I end up waking up the instance around 3 to 4 times daily before I could start using them.
If anyone has a way around this "hibernating issue", would be really helpful.

Hi Elango,
Seems the "idle" policy recently changed from 10 days of inactivity=instance terminated & reclaimed, to "a few hours" of inactivity=instance hibernated. You can go to the following page and wake it up. This was done to better manage the pool of available instances to the developers.
Instance Help
Mark Correct if it solved your issue or hit Like and Helpful if you find my response worthy. Although you can use some schedule job to perform activity so that instance should not sleep, but that is not a good practice and not recommended.
Thanks,
Param

This is a real inconvenience. It will result in people using dev instances a lot less. I'm already about to abandon it because of this "waking" process. It is waaaaay too short. 😕

For those thinking of ditching their dev instances due to the hibernation... have fun. I've got half a dozen trainees who'll grab your spot in the development program in a heart beat.
Back in the day, if you wanted to experiment you either had to beg your employer for a sandbox (bye bye Intellectual Property) or compete with 1000 other people at once on demo.service-now.com.
For additional perspective, the you're basically getting a Dev instance that most customers have to pay $15,000 annually for. If you can get into the Technology Partnership Program, its $5000 annually. But the developer program is giving these things away for free, and dev instances now outnumber all other instances by nearly 2:1.
