I have to wake my personal dev instance daily

Hi,

Each day I have to wake up my instance. Example today, I did configurations around 4:00 AM and on the same day when checked around 2:00 PM, the instance is hibernating.

Why is this happening even when I keep using the instance?

And once the instance sleeps, chrome / internet explorer browser saves the state of it and keeps showing "Hibernating" even after waking up the instance. Clearing cache works but not always. I end up waking up the instance around 3 to 4 times daily before I could start using them.

If anyone has a way around this "hibernating issue", would be really helpful.

It might be difficult to script that.  Truth is I had a script doing essentially this even as a week ago. Then some onw pointed out I was the problem. So lets all just respect a good thing and not abuse it eh?

Dear SNow friends,

Just to give you some feedback from a DevOp from a company using ServiceNow Cloud en on premise (yes an actual customer

I personally use 'my' developer instance a lot to check customisation against the Out Of The Box features with acceptance testing of release upgrades, implementations from contractors.

We also have demo Cloud instances, although we pay for those, I barely use those..

Reason for this is, the better flexibility of the Developer instance.

With a developer instance I can:

- Easier upgrade and .. downgrade (just drop the developer instance and start again with the release I need).

- Compare features/modules/plugins of a very clean OOTB instance against our own instances.

- Enable plugins to investigate, test and learn with our business key users.

The fact you can delete and create a new clean developer instance is a big advantage compared to the cloud demo instances we pay for (which can only be upgraded up and get messy with old test data and customisation tests.

What I, as a (customer) DevOp would like is a developer instance which sleeps less (6 hours is really short) and is a bit longer available, instead of those cloud demo instance our company pays for.

You can have an instance that doesn't sleep with the TPP program.

You can see how much that is here;

https://www.servicenow.com/content/dam/servicenow/documents/datasheets/ds-partner-program-guide.pdf

$5000/yr for 2 instance + 2k for each additional instance up to 10.

I'd also love to have a PDI for .. 50/month on AWS, however, that isn't an offering SN makes.

Thanx.. this Partner program might be interesting, I'll forward this to our solution manager.
