I want to make a catalog item as favorite so that is is directly accessible from left navigation in ServiceNow .  

I see option as "Service Catalog->Dynamic Categories->Top Request.", but not sure of what to update.

Hello Nitin,

As per @Onkar Pandav  says, it is correct. just drag and drop catalog item into favorites tab.

Goto list view of catalog item and drag and drop catalog item into the favorites tab.

For reference check below screenshot.

I have drag and drop "Apple iPhone 5 cable" catalog item into the favorites tab.

I want to have a bookmark to the request form not the editable item. Creating a bookmark like described by Onkar will take me to the edit form of the catalog item

Hi @Marion de Groo1 - In UI16, you could drag-and-drop as described by @Onkar Pandav, but from global search results. I'm not aware of a way in Next Experience Unified Navigation.
