icon and picture Catalog item

Hi All,

I wanted to undertsand what is the difference between icon and picture in catalog item. When I upload a image in catalog item, it is shown everywhere when:

- I open the category

- I open the catalog item or

- when I search for item. 

So ideally, what is the use of icon?

ICON's only show next to the name where images show in the preview and on the item itself.  Here is an OOB one for laptop that has both.

With the new Order Guide widget, Cat Item icons also display on the Order Guide.  So make them small (24x24).  This default one is way too big.
