IMAP (user/pass authentication) and SMTP without authentication

Hi,

We would like to use IMAP for incoming mail and SMTP for outgoing mail.

First, i cannot find where my IMAP configuration can be done in the "Systems Properties/Email Properties" section.
While searching on the wiki for imap, we get almost no result excepting one talking about a plugin called "Email Accounts plugin".
So i enabled this plugin.
I now have the opportunity to configure an e-mail account using IMAP in the "System Mailboxes/Email Accounts", I configured the authentication type to password, but this seems not to work. Can you confirm this is the right way to do this?

Secondly for SMTP, we do not need any authentication (the gateway is allowed to send e-mail through our SMTP Server). So, i would like to disable authentication for SMTP, but since i enabled the "Email Accounts plugin", the option "Systems Properties/Email Properties/Authenticate with the SMTP server using the user name and password properties" is not available anymore. How can i disable authentication for SMTP?

Hope this is clear enough, if not, just let me know, and i will try to re-explain my problem.

Marc.

I was now able to handle the SMTP without authentication.
When i configure IMAP, i'm now able to "test" successfully the connection. But, the mailbox is still not read. Can somebody help me? Do i need to configure something additional to specify the mailbox and trigger the mailbox check?

BR
Marc.

My IMAP is now working, the issue was that my exchange server was configured to use NTLM Authentication which is not supported by SNC for IMAP. Therefore, to have it working, we had to create another IMAP virtual server and configure it for Basic authentication. Hope this will help other people who encounter this issue.
