Hi, it is not clear what your question is...

When it comes to the catalog items, these are the forms in the Service Portal / Employee Center.
Catalog item is ALWAYS creating at least 2 records - one REQ, and one RITM... it can be more but one of these each is always created. Depending on the configurations, it can be more, but in general there is always one REQ, one or more RITMs, and zero or more SCTASKs. It is important to know this REQ - RITM - SCTASK.

There are also record producers, there are not possible to recognise from the catalog items on the Portal, but these producers can create records to any table - incidents, cases, demands, outages, users, custom tables ....... and it usually creates just one record (but can be configured as per needed, e.g. additional tasks).

The main difference is that Requests created as catalog items are requiring approvals, the record producers do not need (but can have) approvals at all.

Both catalog items and record producers are under the module "Maintain items", then can both be in the same category/catalog. The difference is in the table in which they create their records.

Scripting and configuration is common for both - it is CATALOG client scrip(s), CATALOG UI Policy, etc...

Hi @Venkumahant

Practically speaking, there's no straightforward answer to this question. Interviews largely depend on what you know and what the role specifically requires.

For Catalog Management, I would recommend going through the ITSM training and reading about Request Management. There are many concepts involved in this area—including variables, Catalog UI policies, variable editors, flows, approvals, and much more.
