Hi @Rakesh patel ,

If geolocation is not enabled, the starting position defaults to the agent's home office.

Agent location is determined by the geographic coordinates that are sent from the agent's mobile device.

Geolocation tracking is when the system automatically keeps track of the location of the agent. To enable geolocation tracking, select the Geolocation tracked option in the default view of the User form.
Note: The system can update geographic coordinates only for users who have location services enabled in their browsers. Even users who have the Geolocation tracked option selected may be prompted by their browsers to share or withhold their location.

Agent starting position

If geolocation is not enabled, the starting position defaults to the agent's home office. The Field Service Management application uses these criteria to locate work agents at the beginning of the day:
  • If the agent is routed for a future date, the system calculates the route from the home office.
  • If current geolocation data for the agent is available at the start of the day, the system uses those geographical coordinates as the starting point.
  • If current geolocation data for the agent is not available at the start of the day or if geolocation tracking is disabled, the system uses the home office as the starting point.
  • If the agent has a task that is still in the work Work in Progress state at the start of the current day, the system starts the agent's route for that day at the location of the unfinished task. The start time is set to either the time of the scheduled completion of the unfinished task or the current time, whichever is later.

Updating geolocation data

When an agent is tracked, the geographic coordinates are updated whenever the agent loads a task record on the Task [task] table or on a table that extends the Task table.

After the initial update, if the agent does not close or reload the task record, the system continues to update the agent's geographic coordinates at recurring intervals. Administrators can set the length of this interval by doing the following:
  1. Navigate to Geolocation > Administration > Geolocation Properties.
  2. Editing Minimum amount of time between updating the user's location (in seconds) system property.

The default geolocation update interval value is 300 seconds, or 5 minutes.

hi @Community Alums
Geo location is enable , Agent current location is updated in the latitude and longitude , but in the location field it is still showing the home location.
Due to this home location , In the manager map it is not showing the location address (Home address by default)  , instead of current agent location status.

For example
agent home address - Hyderabad
Agent current address - Chennai.

In manager map it is picking up the Hyderabad Address.

Note: All the Stuff i am doing in my PDI Instance.
1)plugin installed
2)Google map Api key used

3)Enable geolocation tracking
4)Browser location enabled
5)Location is not updating with the current Latitude and Longitude details in Location field.

Hi @Sandeep Dutta

Thanks a lot for the explanation.

One for more clarification I need, suppose Geolocation for a user is enabled and that user is at his home. In this case which location will be seen in "My dispatch map".

Thanks and Regards,
