Is there a way to duplicate a Catalog Item and all the objects within the Catalog Item

Hi team,

Is there a way to duplicate a complete Catalog Item with all the objects inside(variable sets, catalog client script , UI Policies, workflow, etc).

I need to duplicate a Catalog Item that needs to be promoted into DEVTEST environment with news sys_id for most of the objects, and to start a fresh versioning of it in DEV environment.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello,

Once you open catalog item form from 'maintain items' there is button 'Copy' once you click it will create a copy of item with new sys id

Thanks, Musab, to duplicate a Catalog Item is easy as just clicking copy. The only thing I don't know is if there is a way to duplicate also the objects within a Variable Set. The Variable Set itself is a new object, but the Variables, Client Scripts, etc are the old versions.

You can use the 'copy' button that's on the form OOB.

It will copy everything on it.

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful. If it resolved the issue, please mark it as correct.

Hi,

out of the box Copy button on sc_cat_item does this for you

Did you explore that? Remember there are conditions to that UI action based on when it is visible
