Is there a way to get report on aborted submittion action on catalog form for deflection purpose?

When a catalog form is restricted for submition with a alert popup and aborts the action of submit for some Geo users, they will not able to submit a request, can we track that? That is a deflection and I want to know if we can capture and report on how many times someone tries to submit

You could put a '# of deflection' field on the catalog item that updates at the time the popup comes up (so invalid update). You update one value while preventing the record to be created.
