Journal Entries Tagging to task table in sys_journal_field table instead of the table from which they were submitted

Hi All,

This question is regarding Journal Entries. Whenever we update an incident or a change or any other child table extending from Task table with Comments or Worknotes (journal type fields) and verify in the Journal Entries [sys_journal_field] table, a new record is created in Journal Entries table.

The table reference for these records in the Journal Entries table is captured on the Name column of the Journal Entries table.

However I noticed that though the comments or worknotes were coming from incident or change or any other child table extending from Task table, the table reference is being captured as "task" instead of the table from whihc they originate from. Please refer to attachment.find_real_file.png

I would like to know if there is nay configuration that tag the exact table from which the journal entries originate from ?

Thanks

Sandeep

Hello Sandeepa,

We have changed this behaviour from Jakarta release i.e it will now reference the exact table name.

Thanks,

Pradeep Sharma

Hi Pradeep,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I understand that from Jakarta the exact table would be tagged for Journal values.

However I would like to understand if we are upgrading from Helsinki to Jakarta, will the table mapping change to the exact table for the old Journal values in sys_journal_field table. Or it is only the new records being inserted into Journal tables that would have new table mappings ?

Thanks In Advance.

A Sandeep

I don't think we will revert back the old one. The change will be only for new records.

Thanks,
