Hello Community Members,
I am learning ServiceNow scripting and want to develop a deep understanding of GlideRecord and GlideAggregate.
I am looking for reliable learning resources, documentation, or practical examples covering all important methods, including advanced methods and real-world use cases.
Specifically, I would like to learn:
All important GlideRecord methods with syntax and practical examples.
Query methods such as addQuery(), addEncodedQuery(), addOrCondition(), get(), and query().
CRUD operations using initialize(), insert(), update(), and deleteRecord().
Field methods such as getValue(), getDisplayValue(), setValue(), and getUniqueValue().
GlideAggregate methods such as addAggregate(), groupBy(), getAggregate(), and addHaving().
All supported aggregate types, including COUNT, SUM, AVG, MIN, and MAX.
The differences between similar methods and when to use each one.
Performance best practices, limitations, and common mistakes.
Real-world practical tasks and interview questions using both APIs.
Official documentation or a structured learning path covering beginner to advanced concepts.
I have started learning these APIs and want to understand not just the syntax but also when, why, and how to use each method effectively.
I would appreciate any official documentation, tutorials, examples, or recommendations from experienced ServiceNow developers.
Thank you for your help!

ahoy @Harshal G Patil,
the Developer portal might have what you are looking for, navigate to the Developer portal and go through these menu items:
Or use these shortcuts I selected for you (from the same location as seen above):
- Resources for every developer:
- Server > GlideAggregate
- Server > GlideRecord
- Learning plans (4x):
- Citizen Developer,
- New to ServiceNow,
- ServiceNow Administrator,
- ServiceNow Application Developer.¨
Let me know if these helped you to get your answers and wish you every success with learning the new stuff
