Looking for guidance on setting up a ServiceNow test environment

Hi all,
We’re exploring some internal use cases and I’d like to provide a safe ServiceNow test environment for our developers mainly to simulate typical platform behavior like ticket creation and KB access without affecting production.

Is there a recommended way to set this up? Ideally something sandboxed with mock data?

We’d also like to test API calls to read content (like KB articles) programmatically.

What’s the recommended way to:

  • Set up a non-production / sandbox environment?

  • Get proper API access for KB retrieval in such an environment?

Any best practices or limitations we should be aware of?
