Lookup using list not working like Not showing caller , assignment group

I'm having trouble with a reference field (lookup list) on the Incident form. The field is not showing any values when I click the lookup icon, even though it should.

You need to provide more information. Which table is the field referencing? What qualifier is behind it? 

You title says 'not showing caller, assignment group'. It will never show both, because those come from different tables.


Please mark any helpful or correct solutions as such. That helps others find their solutions.

Can you please be more specific?
It can be understood in two (or more) ways:

  1. you click the lookup, no popup is opened:
    possibly blocking pop-up windows in your browser,
  2. you click the lookup, it opens the window and it shows empty list: 
    most likely reference qualifier or insufficient access to the referencing table

Please, let me know what exactly it is, the more details the better, a screenshot would be great to understand your issue.
