Month Wise Catalog Item Counts Submitted (Table View)

I want to generate a report containing monthly counts of Catalog Items submitted. (Please refer to the attachment)

Tried to generate this using pivot table option in reporting module, but month wise breakdown is not appearing.  Any suggestions to achieve this.
