MSIM – Microsoft Teams Chat Setup Fails With Failed to validate the connection with Microsoft Team

Hi All,

I am setting up Microsoft Teams Chat Integration in Major Security Incident Management (MSIM).
Our Azure team has already provided the Tenant ID, Client ID and Client Secret.


I entered these values under Administration → Microsoft Teams Chat Setup and clicked Configure & Get OAuth Token – this part worked without any issue.

However, when I click Activate Chat Provider, I get the error “Failed to validate the connection with Microsoft Teams. Please verify the credentials and retry.”

Before checking again with the Azure team, I would like to confirm whether anything on the ServiceNow side could cause this.

Can anyone please help me understand, are there any additional permissions or API scopes required for MSIM Teams integration?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi @Priya Singh9 ,

 

 as far as i recall, it’s about your access to the teams tenant. You need a teams admin to perform this task - again (as far as I recall)
