I am new to mobile app development and have run into an issue that I don't know how to solve.
I have a custom app that was created several years ago to dispose of assets. It was a simple app that uses a related list to show all assets that are available for disposal. Once the list is confirmed, a series of tasks are opened to process the disposal and at the end, the asset is marked as disposed.
I've created a small mobile app that allows our inventory people to scan the assets and add them to the related list instead of using an Excel spreadsheet to confirm with ones will be disposed. This is working without issues.
My issue is displaying/hiding the Scan button on the mobile app. I want to hide the function when it isn't appropriate to display it, but I can't and I can't figure out how to do that.
I have the function displaying on the record screen of the Disposal record. It can scan up to 25 assets at a time, then the user must submit before scanning more assets.
The action function for scanning uses the alm_hardware (Hardware) table. It uses a script to loop through the list of assets that were scanned and updates the asset data on the Hardware table, all done through a script include.
Because the Scan function displays on the Disposal record, but the action data record is the Hardware table, I can't figure out a way to tie them or pass a variable to the action to only display the Scan button based on some criteria.
Can anyone help me out with this?
