Dear all,
We have a requirement where we have to calculate time worked by an agent on incident. Time field is solving the purpose however it keeps on running even when focus is lost i.e. when user shifts to another tab or window.
Is there any way where we can auto pause and start the timer on flip of tab or window?

Im sure someone can answer that precisely but I created my own time worked based on users attested time- after all- many times a user may go to do a substantial amount of work outside of servicenow and come back to the incident- having an incident on your browser and measuring that time is just showing how much time a user had the ticket open but is in no way indicitive of how much they worked on it - even if it was just limitied to how much time they focused on the tab- so what im saying is i think fundamentally a timer of how long they had an incident open or even viewed an incident is not really reliablle for time worked- especially if an agent is asssigned an incident- does work outside of ServiceNow and comes back to update work notes etc- now perhaps if you had an agent on the phone that works one incident at a time, the timer may do the job. I hope someone from a technical perspective answers your question but i wanted to share some thoughts
