PDI Backups and Restore

Hi,

How can you validate that a backup of your PDI instance was created?  or how can you force a backup to be created?

I am having problems because my instance is taken offline (for scheduled maintenance).  This has happened twice in the past week. I wait a day for the maintenance to finish but it never does.  When I release the instance and try and restore an instance from the backup, I am told no backups exist.  It requires me to completely reinstall all applications, which takes a long time.  I understand I can use update sets to capture configuration changes, but I can't use them to install applications, and this still takes time to install each application.

How can I confirm if a backup is created or force a backup?  This article does not provide any solution steps and is very limited in its description of how to utilize this feature.

Attached an example of the offline maintenance error I am receiving.

Thanks,

Nash Giacoma

Hi,

Unfortunatly there is no resolution for that as of now. Its a Known issue these days. Instance help is no longer monitored by servicenow anymore. None of the solutions are working now. like before we had a give feedback button but its gone now.

You should take backup Yourself. You cannot rely on servicenow for PDI backup

Note: Best you can do now is to release the instance and request for new one if you dont have important data. you will have a new instant in less than 5 min.

Mark Correct or Helpful if it helps.

Hi Yousaf,

Thanks for the reply.  How can I create a backup of my entire instance? This article references exporting to GIT, but the video is unavailable and it seems it was focused on a singular application.  What is the best method for exporting the entire instance?

Thanks,

Nash

I am not sure if you will be able backup whole instance but will probably lets you backup all the important data.
