PDI dev310289 Offline After Failed Automatic Upgrade to Australia Patch 7

Hello ServiceNow Community,

My Personal Developer Instance (PDI) dev310289 is currently Offline, and I'm unable to access it.

When I checked the instance history, I found two failed upgrade attempts on October 19, 2026, with the following error:

Error upgrading to Australia Patch 7

I did not manually initiate these upgrades.

The instance status remains Offline, and there is no Start or Wake Instance option available in the Actions menu.

I have existing configurations, Business Rules, Client Scripts, and assignments in this instance that I would like to preserve.

Could someone please advise how to recover my existing PDI without losing my work?

Thank you!

Hi @wtsharathk

Don't worry, now a days many user reports the same issue. If wait is too long, release this instance and take a new one else wait more

You might not get Brazil version immediately, so need to take Australia version n then upgrade.

Hi @wtsharathk

If your PDI displays a “502 Bad Gateway”/ upgrade  error and its status shows as Offline, there are generally two possible solutions:

  1. Wait for the instance to recover: PDIs may occasionally go offline due to maintenance . In some cases, the instance will automatically become available again after a while.
  2. Release the current PDI and request a new one: If the instance remains inaccessible, you can release it and request a new PDI through the Developer Portal.  If you do so, you will loose your work if not you have taken the backup of your work using update set already.

Preventive measure: To avoid losing important configurations of your work, regularly back up your work by using Update Sets or exporting your customizations. This will help you restore your work if your PDI becomes inaccessible.
