Hello ServiceNow Developer Community,
My Personal Developer Instance (PDI) was recently reclaimed, and I have requested a new instance. However, my request has been on the waiting list for the past four days, and I have not yet received an instance.
I would appreciate your guidance on the following:
Is there an estimated waiting time for receiving a new PDI?
Is there any way to check the status of my pending request or get assistance with provisioning?
Is there a way to retain a PDI long-term without it being reclaimed, provided it is used regularly?
Are there any affordable, officially supported long-term development or demo environments available for startups?
I work at a startup and need a stable ServiceNow environment for development and demonstrations of an AIOps proof of concept integrating ServiceNow with Microsoft Intune.
I need standard development capabilities, including admin access, tables, Business Rules, Script Includes, incident and asset management, and REST API integrations. I do not require Now Assist or AI Agent Studio.
I am happy to continue using a free PDI if one becomes available, but I would also like to understand whether ServiceNow offers a low-cost alternative for long-term development and demonstrations.
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi @keerthiyadh
See Simon Answer

ahoy @keerthiyadh,
have you requested the Brazil release? It might take longer time to get a PDi with this build version.
Other Community members reported waiting for a PDI longer than 10 days, not saying it's a standard but it can happen...
Except of waiting a bit more, you have 2 other options:
- ditch the waiting queue and requesting a lower version (Australia, not Brazil)
- and if needed you can then upgrade to Brazil overnight or stick to Australia...
- enrol to a SN University course (e.g. ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals), it gives you study lab immediately but only for a very limited period of time, but you can utilise it while waiting for that PDI

Hi @keerthiyadh
PDI doesn’t come with support, so no one can tell you why it was reclaimed or when you’ll get a new PDI. Based on my experience, however, …
If you’re looking for the Brazil release, I’d recommend taking the Australia release first and then upgrading the instance to Brazil. The Brazil Scaled Change documentation is available in the ServiceNow docs.
I did the same approach myself and now have the Brazil release. The upgrade can take around 7–8 hours, so allow enough time for it.
Important: Cancel/release your current waiting-list request first, then proceed with this approach.

Hi @keerthiyadh
There is no estimated waiting time.
Many community member are facing the same issue.
Have you requested Brazil PDI?
- If yes, and you don’t want to wait, I suggest cancelling the current waitlist request.
- Then, request Australia PDI and upgrade it to Brazil afterward.
If you are okay with the waiting time, you can keep your current Brazil waitlist request active.
Please note that there is currently no support available for PDI.
