In order to propose the best solution that aligned with the customer’s requirements, and help the customer to use the products as expected, a minimum knowledge of how to use the ServiceNow application is required. This knowledge can be achieved through classic training with or without an instructor.
However, the practice is highly recommended to improve your skills on the platform, and to do so you can activate the module on your personal development instance for free .
You have two different ways:
Activate directly in the instance:
Log in as System Admin go to System Definition > Plugins
In the developer portal go to My Account > Instance Action > Activate Plugin
If you cannot activate the plugin in your personal development instance using the first way , and you have the following error message :
Switch to the classic App Manager
Click on “Switch to Classic App Manager”
Search for your desired app
And Click on Install/Update All
Don’t forget to Load demo data .
When you request a PDI (Personal Development Instance), the password is showed, make sure to modify the admin password, if the password is forgotten , be aware that you can access the instance from the ServiceNow developer portal and My Instance > Start Building .
The PDI is deactivated after 10 days of inactivity, and you can loose all you devs , create an update set to capture all your devs and export it .
You can activate and manage emails on your PDI : My Account > Instance Action > Manage Email Properties and activate Enable email sending and receiving toggle
