For some reason when I upload a file on the Portal, I don't get the message at all, and the attachment doesn't get added.
Not sure why, it's very OOTB, any ideas?

Hi,
there is this system property which holds the list of extensions which are allowed to be used in file attachment.
Check if vsd extension is present in that list
