Protection Policy for Script Include

Hi

I have accidentally set the Protection Policy of a Script Include to Protected, it now wouldn't allow me to make any changes

on script include form.Though I have the admin rights on the instance(Fuji version).

Can somebody tell me how to change this Protection policy ?

Thanks

Hardy

Can confirm, this script works in circumventing the baseline Protection Policy (use with extreme caution).

Script does not work in Helsinki. The sys_policy reverts back to previous value. Can you please confirm if this works for you in Helsinki?

What is the procedure for modifying the protection policy? In my authoring instance I created a test script include, set it to protected, and now I can't make any changes to it. Same as previous poster -- I am the author and admin of the instance, so would expect to be able to protect and un-protect at will?

Hey Pradeep,

I am currently working on Password Reset - AD implementation.

After installation of Password Reset plugin there are certain UI pages which comes with plugin installation.

Need to know is there a way I can edit these UI pages.

It gives me following error :

This item is read-only based on its protection policy.

I want to change the look of this UI page, Can you tell me how to change the protection policy for this UI page ?

Also , I found there is an access control (sys_metadata.sys_policy) which is preventing write access on 'Protection Policy' Field. But again as per the ACL admin should be able to edit it, not Sure why I am not able to do so.

If you look at Gerardo's comment, that's only editable by a ServiceNow employee. It might be easiest to copy the script and create a new page and edit it that way. Just make sure you don't set the Protection Policy to 'Read-only' or you'll have two of the same un-editable pages.
