Publishing high-level reports to all users without drilldown or ACL issues

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to see if anyone has run into a similar use case or has found a good solution for this.

We’re looking to publish reports across the entire company, not just fulfillers, where users can view high-level data only. The goal is for this to be more of a “read-only visual” experience — essentially like images or dashboards where users cannot drill down into the underlying data.

Right now we’re running into two main issues:

  1. Users who do have access to the data can still drill down into the report, which we want to prevent
  2. Users who don’t have access are hitting ACL errors and can’t see anything at all

What we’re ideally looking for is a way to:

  • Make these reports visible to all users regardless of role
  • Prevent any drilldown into the underlying records
  • Avoid ACL-related errors entirely
  • Keep it strictly high-level / presentation-style

Has anyone implemented something like this before? Are there recommended approaches (report snapshots, PA, dashboards, or anything else) that work well for this kind of use case?

Appreciate any insight — thanks in advance!

Hi @Andrew Meza

There are some issues according to the requirement. First, you can’t come around the ACL issue. If users don’t have access to the underlaying data by a read role, then they can’t see the reports. Secondly you can come around this but there could be a licens impact based on your subscription / tables in scope.

the others issues that you encountered you can come around, but the once I mentioned at first is the most important once.

If my answer has helped with your question, please mark my answer as the accepted solution and give a thumbs up.

Best regards
Anders
