- Check if there is any onLoad scripts running on the related list table.
- also review if there is any customizations to the New button.
Please mark my answer correct and helpful if this works for you.

Can you check which UI action is actually working for the Related List?
Check relationships and associated table with the UI action.
That might help you with where to do the changes to achieve the desired outcome

Hi @Vedavalli ,
This happens because the abc table extends the def table (table inheritance).
When you click New from the abc related list, ServiceNow opens the base table (def) form if abc does not have its own form layout.
Fix
Go to System Definition → Tables
Open abc
Confirm it extends def
Open abc form
Add at least one section/field and save the form
After creating a dedicated form layout for abc, clicking New from the abc related list will correctly open a new abc record instead of def.
Why this works
ServiceNow falls back to the parent table form when a child table does not have its own form configuration.
Thanks & Regards,
Sachin Narayanasamy
