Remove Demo Data not working on PDI instance

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working with a ServiceNow Developer Instance (PDI) and experimenting with creating apps and using APIs. To keep the environment clean and simple, I wanted to remove the demo data.

I followed the process from my PDI profile: I went to Instance Actions and selected "Remove Demo Data". I received the confirmation email saying the operation was successful, but when I log back into my instance, all the demo data is still there.

I’ve tried this process multiple times, waited for the confirmation email each time, but the demo data is never actually removed.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? Any ideas why the demo data is still there despite the success message?

Thanks in advance

Hi @FrancescoR,

you will need to contact ServiceNow team for assistance, you cannot do it on your own:
https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/washingtondc-platform-security/page/administer/security/refer...

Removing demo data using the Service Catalog

Instead of submitting the request as an incident, certain users can request demo data removal on an instance using the Service Catalog. These users include internal users, and those users who have the customer_admin or partner_admin roles.

  1. Navigate to https://support.servicenow.com/now.
  2. Specify the instance from which to remove demo data.

If you are having trouble finding your instance, preface the instance name with * to perform a contains query.

  3. Click Self-Service > Remove Demo Data > .
  4. Specify the date and time to remove demo data from the selected instance.

The date and time must be at least four hours later than the current time.

  5. Click Submit.

Hi @GlideFather

This is applicable for the client instance but not for PDI.

PDIs don't have any support, so reaching out to ServiceNow won't help. In fact: you can't even select a PDI from NowSupport.
