Security concerns around the Guest account

Our IT security department has concerns about the functionality of the guest account and the access it may grant.   It peaked their curiosity by the name Guest.   I am interested in renaming the account.   Is there any reason I cannot or should not rename it?   Besides the superficial naming issue, what security risk does it pose?

Hello Kipp,

Guest user gives you the chance to create incidents when the users sending emails are not in your user records.

Other processes use the account also, like for instance public surveys.

You can always lock it out should you not consider it useful.
