Hi - I started working recently past 3 months on Service Mapping
We are working on Service Mapping for Server Based Applications
All we are doing is manually create with Business applications and add all manually connections to the application servers or DB servers or TCP end point connection with host and port and instance name .
Since we are working on TEST instance that's is fine for manually adding connections
when it goes to PROD we are still going to the same exercise as in TEST .
Is this the only approach for Server based mapping ? or any other approaches are there ?
Appreciate any responses.
Thanks
Jyothi

Hi ,
May i know what is the reason for adopting for the creation of manual mapping instead of an entry point based?
Also ,why are you not using the Application services (cmdb_ci_service_discovered) table?

Hi Kiran
For Server Based applications app. owners they don't have entry point
app owners only give applications servers or database servers or IP address information
Only web based applications have https:// entry point .
