service portal : spmodal window not getting closed when clicked on catalog item

Hi,

I am calling popular item widget from custom widget using spmodal which display popular item. When i am clicking on any of the item it is opening in background and spmodal window is still open and not getting close. Is there any way to close the spmodal window once any item is clicked.

i am calling OOB "sc_popular_items_v2" widget to display popular items in dialog box from custom widget using spModal.
