Service Requests without creating a service catalog.

dvientos

I know this will go down as the most rookie of questions but...

I need to configure a service request process which is for users who ask for items such as new users creations, etc.

Where do I perform this? Do i need to build an entire service catalog? I just want a way to be able seperate users submitting incidents and users submitting requests. I dont have the time and or expertise to build a service catalog.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Domenic,

I would encourage you to take a look at the Service Creator and/or Catalog Item Designer functionality in Eureka.

The Service Creator is fanatically simple way to do exactly what you're looking for -- put a form in place for users to submit information and create a ticket. It lives in the Service Catalog, but it's just a record producer fronting a table with a really simple interface to make it happen.

If you need to have variables, approvals, more control over the backend workflow then the Catalog Item Designer may be a better fit. It only creates Service Catalog requests and can't be used to front other tables.

Both technologies were included in the Eureka release.

Best,
