We have created a custom solution for ServiceNow to JIRA Integration not using Integration Hub. We are unable to get attachments from ServiceNow into JIRA. We are able to pass the attachment name, but no attachment. We need some help getting this working properly.

Hello @Joe Fisher,
I understand that you have implemented a custom solution for ServiceNow to JIRA Integration.
You need to weigh the building of a custom integration solution, by analyzing the budget, time, and effort needed to build it in-house.
As per my experience, ServiceNow and Jira integration is just a starting point for the traceability of Incidents, Requirements, and Testing Results. Over time, more code will be implemented at a scale to handle data sync reliability issues like inconsistent synchronization, data security, and failure recovery as usage and complexity increase. In the future, your organization may require you to maintain ServiceNow and Jira Custom Solution and add more integrations. Consequently, more implementations will be needed to update the custom solution for the API changes and feature enhancements and to integrate with more systems. Therefore, in the interest of your organization, the organization should focus on its core competencies and consider the integration solutions available in the market.
If you are open to a third-party Integration Hub solution, then OpsHub is an excellent option, which comes without any cost. A ServiceNow partner and a certified integration tool, OpsHub offer a federated integration platform that can help ease your integration journey by true bidirectional (automated) synchronization with reliable and predictable outcomes.
OpsHub’s free Community Edition supports the integration of the entities, all System and Custom Tables on ServiceNow from to the entities, all System & Custom Issue Types, Sub-Task Types, etc. on Jira. OpsHub’s Commercial Edition additionally supports integrating advanced entity types like Jira Portfolio items, various add-ons, Planning items, etc.
You can download OpsHub’s Community Edition and start your ServiceNow and Jira integration journey. For any further queries, please reach out to OpsHub's Integration Experts, for an initial discussion on ServiceNow – JIRA integration.
Thanks
Vishal

Hi Joe Fisher
I'm working as a pre-sales engineer with Exalate.
Exalate was designed with exactly these types of use-cases in mind, you could say that it is our "bread and butter".
One of Exalate's features, apart from syncing tickets bi-directionally, is integrating servicenow and jira.
Cheers

Joe, did you look back at the integration settings? Back when i was starting with the integrations I had quite a similar issue twice (well, not with Jira, but still..). My integration messed up - the connection ( the settings in particular) was not properly set. We're currently using external help to match the systems. We customize it to fit the use case (and other project requirements). If you decide to try an alternative, feel free to check it out.

Hi @Joe Fisher

Exalate was designed with exactly these types of attachment syncing use-cases in mind, you could say that it is our "bread and butter".
One of Exalate's features, apart from syncing tickets bi-directionally, is having the ability to sync all attachments between Servicenow and Jira.
Exalate is easy and straightforward to set-up and you can control exactly which data you want to send and/or receive.
If you would like to see a customized demo of the product, please book a slot.
Cheers
