- What are the pre-requisites?
- What's the method?
- Does it require any specific plugin to be enabled?

I don't think there is any plugin for the same.
As per the wiki page
List of Available Integrations - ServiceNow Wiki
you can use SSO, Email, MID Server for integration.

We currently use the Mid Server to integrate with PeopleSoft. We created a probe that runs a poweshell script at the mid server and returns all our users and their attributes from the common table. Works great.
