Yes, Studios are still used but which one you pick depends on what type of application you’re trying to build and who the builder is:
Want to build an app easily, without code?
Use Creator Studio. It’s great for simple request/fulfillment use cases (e.g., an office supplies request app). No coding required.
Need a broader app with low-code options?
Go for App Engine Studio. It lets you create more complex apps than Creator Studio while staying in low-code territory.
Are you a developer looking for more control in one place?
Choose the new ServiceNow Studio. It’s the modern environment for professional developers—integrating low-code tools, navigation, packaging, and productivity enhancements.
Prefer industry-standard dev tools and coding workflows?
Use ServiceNow IDE (a VS Code for the web on the platform) or the ServiceNow SDK (VS Code desktop with Fluent and JavaScript modules). Perfect if you want to work directly in source code and leverage third-party libraries.
In short: Citizen developers go for Creator Studio / App Engine Studio where as Pro developers go for ServiceNow Studio / IDE + SDK
