The "view" section in the Incident form context menu is missing.

The "view" section in the Incident form context menu is missing. It is available in the Incident list context menu and on the form context menus for other tables besides Incident. I recently came on to help with ServiceNow development and the people who did our implementation of Service Now are no longer here so I can't reach out to them. I have searched through the wiki, settings, business rules, and client scripts and can't find anything. I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Any ideas?

Looks like I figured it out. Apparently if a "View Rule" is active then the "View" context menu is disabled. Is this regular behavior for Service Now?

There is most likely a view rule that is being applied. If a view rule is applied then the option to change views is removed from the context menu. To figure this out go to View Rules and see if there is one with a condition that will be applying the view rule on the Change form.



This could also be a bug in Fuji Patch 3. To find out more I would open a ticket with HI support and see what they say.

Hi Tim,

 

I am using NY version and also facing the same issue on Incident as there is one View rule created and I am unable to see View option in context menu. If I deactivate that view rule, I can see the view menu option on Context menu. 

As you are mentioned above, did you get any input from HI Support team ?
