Hi All,
I have a query regarding Timezones available/ created in servicenow.
Example:
Case 1: Suppose I have chosen ART timezone which is related to Argentina and Argentina timezone is 08:30 hrs behind IST (as per google). But while configuring Timezone for a user/SLA how can I verify that if I select ART as timezone it is for Argentina only not other country in servicenow and follows the same time which is for the Argentina.
Case 2: Suppose I have created a custom Timezone named Test how can I set /see its value with respect to standard timezones like IST/UTC/GMT ?
See the screenshot below and as I have simply created Test timezone so which time it will take if I will choose it.
Regards,
Nandan

Nandan,
First, I don't see your screenshot.
That said, this document explains much of what can be done with timezones.
In your case, if none of the out of the box choices match the local timezone, then creating custom one should work.
To verify the timezone setting, the easiest way would be to look at recently updated records and see if the time displays correctly.
-I hope this helps.

Dear JeffCsn,
Please find below the screenshot I am talking about in above thread.
Also, as suggested by you I have tried the way but in case of Argentina (Time Zone ART) we are facing difference from what needs to be there. As Argentina time is 8.5 hrs behind IST but while creating incidents I see that it is only 3.5 hrs only behind. That's why I am curious to know about how to verify the timezone selected is working properly with respect to some other standard timezone or not. If there is any other way please suggest.
Regards,
Nandan

HI Nandan,
The time zone choice MUST be equal to a valid Java/IANA time zone name
if you want to find out the +- hours, you need to go to https://www.iana.org/time-zones
