Tree Picker Hierarchy for a table having different parent

Hi, 
I have a requirement to display tree picker hierarchy for a table whose parent is referencing to another table (not self referencing). 
Is there a workaround for this?

tree picker is when parent is self-referencing and has parent-child relationship

If parent refers to other table then it won't work.

Inform customer about this OOTB feature and limitation.
