UI Action on Service Portal catalog item

I need to add a button to a Service Catalog item to trigger a search / script include.

I am currently doing this in the Service Catalog view of a catalog item but it does not work in the Service Portal

Anyone know how I can achieve this, just need a simple button on the catalog form that triggers a script include which updates a table which we reverence later on in the catalog item.

UI actions/Buttons on service catalog can be added/removed under  Service Catalog>>Catalog Definitions>>"Maintain cart layouts"
